Need to get work done in a confined space?
We can help you work safely in a confined space
Confined spaces are extremely high-risk work environments, presenting access challenges, atmospheric hazards and limited rescue options.
Confined spaces cannot be entered without a confined space work permit and should never be entered without specialist advice, support and equipment.
How to identify a confined space
Under the Safe Work Australia model and Australian Work Health and Safety Regulation 5, the defining criteria of a confined space are:
- Either fully or partially enclosed; and
- Not designed primarily for human occupation; and
- Designed to be at a normal atmospheric pressure; and
- Contains at least one of the following health and safety hazards:
- an atmosphere with unsafe oxygen levels
- a contaminant (gases, vapours, dusts) that may cause injury from fire or explosion
- harmful concentrations of an airborne contaminant
- the potential for engulfment

Our certified Confined Space technicians will assess your space against key criteria and advise on suitable access and rescue solutions.

Our Confined Space team can bring specialist gear, implement an access solution, provide onsite supervision and rescue support.

Our Confined Space technicians can undertake visual inspections and condition assessments plus maintenance and repairs for you.

Our Confined Space team can install a confined space safety system that’s been designed and adapted to suit and to fit your site.
